The emergence of the Internet is one of the most amazing things that happened in the twentieth century. It revolutionized the way we handle and access information.
Simply put, the Internet is a network of networks, a massive interconnection of computers all over the world. It is different from the World Wide Web, which is a wide collection of interconnected documents, hypertext and hyperlinks. The Web is but one of the communication services being provided in the Internet.

Greenhills Christian Fellowship will hold the a conference on Celebrate Family: The Challenge of the Family in the 21st Century on June 27, 2009, 9am to 4:30pm at the GCF Ministry Center, Ortigas Center, Pasig City.
I was invited to be one of the speakers there on the topic “Internet: Friend or Foe.” There will be two sessions of my presentation. One from 1:00-2:30 and another from 3:00-4:30. I will talk about the boon and the bane of the Internet for teenagers, internet addiction, the Word of God and the Internet and how teens can avoid the pitfalls of using the Internet. A week or so ago, I mused on Why Filipino Youth are Hooked with Video Games. It’s a great way to bond with friends and build a community, especially among guys.
I was surfing through the net randomly, when I came across this Internet Addiction Test. I took the test. The test asked about my online habits and Internet usage. At least it told me that:
You are an average on-line user. You may surf the Web a bit too long at times, but you have control over your usage.
